Description and Qualifications

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence Analyst III (Analyst III) provides data-driven guidance and recommendations to leadership to optimize and improve processes in ways that support the goals and mission of the organization. The Analyst III ensures a robust data environment is available to departmental stakeholders and within the Process Improvement &Analytics (PI&A) team for reporting and analysis. The Analyst III is proactive in using data to interpret and measure performance to drive direction, develop strategy, and set goals for the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

General Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and advise Senior Leadership on the development of the organization’s goals, key metrics, and performance indicators.

  • Acts as a leader of analytics function to drive the development of data infrastructure and culture at LifeCenter.

  • Defines success metrics through strong partnership with leadership.

  • Delivers applied analytics within the business intelligence infrastructure, utilizing SQL, DAX, M, Python, and other skills to query, manipulate, and analyze data.

  • Designs and oversees development of enterprise and departmental business intelligence, data warehousing and reporting solutions using existing tools – SQL Server, Power BI, Azure services, Power Apps, Power Automate.

  • Identifies, evaluates, and implements new technology platforms into the environment, creating the relevant business case analysis (BCA) as needed.

  • Manipulates data and design of ad hoc reporting and creation of interactive standardized reporting / dashboards using multiple data sources.

  • Ensures accuracy of reported data/information.

  • Identifies and drives process improvement opportunities through data analysis.

  • Drives adoption and utilization of reporting tools through technical training and data literacy.

  • Mentors cross-departmental analysts and PI&A team members who may benefit from working within the BI environment.

  • Collaborates with the Data Architect & Engineer in the creation and maintenance of Data Standards, Best Practices, Data Modeling, Management & Governance (including Data Quality & Metadata) and Data Security (including PII).

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have formal supervisory responsibility. The position does serve as an advisor and consultant for the organization and coach and mentor for other positions within the department.

Other Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as required by the needs of the company and the leadership team.

  • Participates in, and may lead, employee committees and events.

  • Complies with applicable laws, regulations, and LifeCenter policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Expertise utilizing Microsoft ETL/data integration tools.

  • Strong experience working with data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts, terminology, and architecture.

  • Strong experience designing and developing complex SSAS Tabular/Power BI data models.

  • Demonstrate SQL skills with extensive experience in developing stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and advanced logical methods.

  • Ability to make complex ideas understandable.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Excel services, SharePoint, expertise in SQL servers.

  • Troubleshoot and rectify any production environment related issues.

  • Work closely with customers to deliver effective global BI architecture in a timely manner.

  • Must be highly professional and able to interact with all levels of management.

  • Must possess initiative and a desire for continuous improvement.

  • Must be able to perform analysis and create deliverables from general direction.

  • Must be able to work effectively with others, some in remote locations.

  • Must be highly organized and analytical.

  • Must be able to present the results of analysis in a clear and concise format, with a focus on actionable insight.

Physical Activities/Requirements

  • Must have the ability to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment.

  • The individual must have the ability to communicate clearly using the English language, to accurately convey and receive information person and over the phone.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Generally, working conditions do not require exposure to hazardous materials nor extremes in health and safety hazards. Work is performed in an office setting.

ANTICIPATED WEEKLY TIME COMMITMENT

This position may require work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, sometimes without advance notice.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred

  • Relevant work experience can be considered and substituted for academic requirements

  • At least 5 years related work experience with developing technical BI data solutions, preferably with Microsoft tools (PowerBI, SQL, SSAS, SSRS)

  • Demonstrated experience in critical thinking, influencing and strategic problem solving.

The pay range for this role is provided above. Where a candidate’s compensation falls within this range is based on several bona fide factors such as experience, tenure, and other specialized knowledge.
