ACCOUNTING MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, providing guidance to support staff as needed.

  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, job cost reports, and budget-to-actual comparisons.

  • Track and analyze project costs, ensuring proper job costing and revenue recognition in accordance with industry standards.

  • Handle all banking activities, including reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and fund transfers.

  • Prepare and file sales tax reports and support year-end tax filings in coordination with external accountants.

  • Maintain WIP schedules and ensure proper documentation for project billing and collections.

  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes and internal controls specific to construction operations.

    Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, either in public accounting (audit) or within the construction industry.

  • Solid understanding of construction accounting, including job costing and WIP reporting.

  • Proficiency with accounting software.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage deadlines independently.

  • Demonstrated expertise in general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

  • In-depth knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting.

  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning, and analysis.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
