About Us

We operate Guinness packaging facilities at Marshalls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, in North West England, producing canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, UK and export markets. Significant investment is underway at both of these locations.

This role is site based at Diageo’s east Belfast packaging facility is a 12-acre site running a 24/7 operation and is supplied with beer from St James Gate brought to the site in bulk tankers, which each hold up to 30,000 litres of beer. It has been operating for over 30 years, formerly as Irish Bonding and employs 150 direct staff. The site produces over 20 brands, including Guinness Draught, Extra Stout and Foreign Extra Stout, Harp, Hop House 13, Smithwick’s and Rockshore.

About the role

We are delighted to share that we have multiple excellent opportunities for Operators to join our dedicated team at Marshalls Road.

Within this role you’ll be responsible for the quality control of the line, operating packaging machine processes whilst following standard operating procedures for machine operation and set up time reduction as well as preparing the line for shift handovers. In addition, you will perform autonomous maintenance tasks including clean, inspect and lubricate and respond to issues.

Health and safety compliance is key and you’ll be at the forefront of making sure this is monitored alongside other KPI’s and targets including quality, hygiene, waste and efficiency.

To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems.

  • Holds strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to communicate with all levels across the site.

  • Has ambition and aim to support Team Leaders and possibly aspire to become a Team Leader of the future.

  • Able to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities. With a strive to make a positive difference to manufacturing excellence and show your excellent communication skills.

For this role you will ideally have experience working in a production/FMCG environment, and have demonstrable knowledge of Quality, Health and Safety and environmental risk principles.

It'd be great if you had a knowledge of working in the brewing and packaging industry, alongside familiarity with SAP.

Experience working in a production environment would be beneficial but not a must-have for this role.

Onsite training will be provided.

Shifts

This role requires you to work a 42hr week continental day / night shift pattern. x2 12-hour days, x2 12-hour nights with 4 days off. Repeat.
