Google Software Engineer, Data Discovery and Management (English) in Beijing, China

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

  • 2 years of experience in data structures or algorithms in an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and developing full-stack products or distributed systems.

  • Experience in distributed and parallel systems or front-end/back-end development.

  • Ability to be self-driving, open-minded, easy to work with, drive projects from the scratch, and collaborate smoothly with multiple partner teams.

  • Ability to speak and write in English Fluently.

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.   • Design and develop key features or critical infrastructure for Data Discovery and Management product, which might include frontend, backend or pipeline work.

  • Collaborate closely with Data Discovery and Management and partner teams to design scalable and extension solutions for user journeys, leveraging existing infrastructure and build needed software components.

  • Work with customer teams across multiple areas to understand Data Discovery and Management, compliance and scalability requirements for data catalog.

  • Own the project life-cycle, from design, prototype to production roll-outs, and general available.
