Job Description Summary

All activities relating to enhancing services technology integrating customer data, or capturing engines/products reliability, availability, maintenance, safety and other performance parameters. As this role, you will be the CT NPI core team member to work with global team and design function team to deliver NPI service design tasks and drive serviceability design. You will also act as the technical expert to support global service team on tough field issues.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Roles responsible for developing Service design concepts based on user needs, and define allocation to subsystems based on refinement of the design concept with SME in subsystems. Individuals in these roles perform detailed trade studies to define the specifications for features or components. They perform CTQ and requirements flowdown, document their designs, and perform challenging verification of their designs. In addition, they capture service requirements and ensure that systems, subsystems, or component designs meet those requirements, from install, troubleshooting, repair, to preventive and proactive maintenance. They understand the service vision and process and can ensure service goals for a product or business are met.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills and part of the NPI program core team to represent service voice and as the owner of serviceability design.

  • Define procedures and strategy for field installations, calibrations, and part replacements.

  • Lead installation and warranty cost reduction projects.

  • Drive Service Design & Service System Level Requirements.

  • Drive implementation of design and documentation about service action, Installation, and spare parts replacement, etc.

  • Identify opportunities to improve design quality in new design based on field quality feedback and user needs collection.

  • Review and do verification/Validation work for service features, process and documentations.

  • Execute field data analysis to find opportunities about service cost reduction.

Required Qualifications

  • Master or Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering/Computer Science, or Bio-medical Engineering. Similar working experience are preferred.
