WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role is cross-functional by design. You will work closely with business leaders and users, and teams including Nike Sports Research Lab, Digital Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Brand, and Retail Operations, to bring products to market.

We are looking for a Senior Principal Industrial Design to help develop new, innovative products for everyday athletes. The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to seamlessly move between forward thinking and tactical implementation. They are a life-long learner, excellent at navigating the unknowns and working with multiple stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization to get the right things done. They are equally adept at setting a long-term strategic vision as they are at getting in the weeds and have a proven track record of successful delivery of significant business outcomes.
WHAT YOU BRING:
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
• 20+ years of industry experience in the electromechanical hardware space preferred.
• Proven experience in delivering industry leading products to the marketplace.
• Demonstrated expertise with consumer electronics and a functional knowledge of hardware engineering.
• Experience leading interdisciplinary design teams.
• Ability to hold product design and experience objectives to the highest standards of design.
• Experience with footwear and softgoods a plus.
• Experience with Solidworks a plus.
• Positive energy, curiosity, and a passion for building magical products that users love.
• Bias to action and progress over perfection mentality.
• Strong technical savvy and understanding/curiosity about emerging innovative technologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous learning is core to our identity.
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves to win as a team.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As Design Lead, you will play a critical role in driving the execution of our powered athlete product roadmap. You will be responsible for overall system design of powered athlete products, including industrial, footwear/apparel, and UX/UI design, ensuring that our products deliver a magical user experience.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
• Drive the design vision and execution of powered athlete products.
• Develop vision and concepts for the powered athlete ecosystem
• Establish the vision for multi-generational product lines.
• Responsible for industrial design, user experience, footwear integration, hardware design, soft goods design and integration as well as user journey for integrated ecosystem.
• Lead with a build-to-learn mentality. Urging the team forward by demonstrating magical experiences for athletes through product design.
• Collaborating with engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders to ensure a premium Nike experience.
• This role will involve leading people (internal and external resources) as well as hands-on prototyping and CAD to achieve product design objectives.
