WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Success at Nike starts and ends with the team! This role requires a dynamic teammate who can work across functions and with external parties to ensure the success of two best-in-class duty savings programs. This role requires collaborating with partners inside and outside of Nike to manage, grow and ensure the success of these programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, a passion for working collaboratively, a strong bias for action, problem-solving skill, courageous innovation, robust self-awareness, an appetite for learning and a passion for moving the world forward through the power of sport.

Playing by the rules is also critical to success – that’s why we’re looking for individuals with previous demonstrated excellence in US imports and extensive knowledge of First Sale and the US Goods Returned tariff provisions. A successful candidate will have a strong sense of how to execute successfully in dynamic US regulatory and business environments to ensure full compliance of these programs with all applicable regulations and standard processes.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be collaborating with internal and external business partners to administer and grow the First Sale and Duty Exemption programs. You will do this through a keen understanding of US regulations and the Nike supply chain to identify and increase opportunities and build guardrails to ensure full compliance with regulations and policy. You’ll perform regular reviews of the programs’ partners and operations and identify areas of opportunity to improve in compliance and performance. You’ll report out regularly to business partners on the achievements, risks and opportunities associated with the programs. You will collaborate with IT partners on systems and tools to streamline processes and reduce or eliminate risk areas in the programs. You’ll work closely with your leaders and peers on the North America Trade and Customs team to review processes and documentation to find efficiencies and continuously improve the implementation of the programs.

As a growth-minded professional, you’ll also keep your eyes on opportunities for expanding your knowledge and skills across the North America Trade and Customs team.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will engage and partner with a diverse group of team members, both inside and outside of Nike. These team members include Nike Trade and Customs, Nike Legal, Nike IT, Nike factory partner management, and external factory partners.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3- 5 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 3 yrs; Masters + 4 yrs; Associates degree + 6 yrs; High School + 7 yrs

  • Strong experience in Trade/Customs at large importer

  • Experience with First Sale and/or US Goods Returned programs

  • Current US Customs Broker’s License preferred

  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented + clear communication

  • Required to sit / stand for long hours, must be able to prepare & conduct desk work, presentations & meetings
