We're currently hiring a Manufacturing Technician to join our small-but-mighty team-someone who thrives on solving problems, building high-quality products, and working closely with engineers, technicians, and production leadership to keep things running smoothly. Why You'll Love Working Here 4-Day Workweek: Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM-4:30 PM with flexibility) * Fridays Off - Every Week * Pay: $23-30 /hour DOE * 3 Weeks of PTO upon hire (increases up to 6 weeks with tenure) * Winter Holiday Closure: Paid time off Dec 25 - Jan 1 * 401(k): Company match up to 4% * 100% Company-Paid Health Benefits - Medical, dental, and vision * Additional Perks: * Health Savings Account - Generous annual employer contributions to help cover deductibles and expenses * Life & AD&D Insurance * Aflac * Free Gym Membership * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) * 8 paid holidays * Paid breaks (two 15-minute breaks + 30-minute lunch) * Monthly breakfasts, potlucks, and casual team celebrations What You'll Do * Operate and maintain advanced diagnostic and assembly equipment including lasers, cameras, UV dispensers, optical spectrum analyzers, wire pull testers, and function generators * Perform calibration of optical and fiber optic components to meet precise technical standards * Assemble and test high-spec optical, electrical, and mechanical subassemblies with minimal supervision * Use exploded diagrams, wiring schematics, and procedural documentation to guide work * Detect and resolve product issues through hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis * Identify inconsistencies in test results and escalate or resolve them in collaboration with the team * Repair non-conforming assemblies (mechanical, electrical, optical) and return them to spec * Contribute to quality control by executing and documenting inspection protocols * Work within Lumencor's custom MES system to track tasks, capture data, and follow updated product requirements * Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff to continuously improve products and processes Who You'll Work With * Your Manager: You'll report to Todd MacClanathan, Lumencor's Director of Quality, who brings more than 30 years of experience leading high-performing technical teams in manufacturing, engineering, and product development. Todd is a steady, strategic leader who fosters a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement. He's known for empowering his team to think critically, take initiative, and solve meaningful problems-while keeping communication open and support accessible. * The Team: You'll be part of a close-knit group of 3 technicians and 2 engineers in Lumencor's metrology and manufacturing support team. What We're Looking For * 2-3 years of experience in electromechanical testing and assembly * Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents including schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings * Comfortable operating high-precision equipment in a clean, structured manufacturing environment * Strong attention to detail with minimal errors in assembly, testing, and documentation * Experience identifying inaccurate or inconsistent test results and taking corrective action * Excellent communication skills-able to clearly share quality findings and collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teammates * Self-driven and proactive-able to stay productive without needing constant direction * Comfortable adapting to new processes, tools, and frequent product changes in a dynamic production setting Bonus Points If You Have * IPC Certification * Experience working with lasers, optics, or light-based assemblies * Familiarity with MES or GMP systems The Lumencor Difference At Lumencor, we take pride in building advanced lighting solutions that power breakthrough science, diagnostics, and inspection-but it's our people who truly set us apart.
