Amergis Educational Diagnostician in Beaumont, Texas
The Educational Diagnostician assesses and diagnoses thelearning problems of students. The Educational Diagnosticians works within thescope of a multidisciplinary team of professionals to make decisions regardingthe placement and support of students with learning disabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works within the scope of a multidisciplinary team to assessstudents, plans a course of action and monitors the progress of a studentwithin the school system
Receives student referrals and evaluates within theappropriate timelines established by the school district
Assists in the selection of evaluation materials andequipment maintenance
Uses course of action determined by the team to implementand track the program developed by the multidisciplinary team
Collects data from student folders, teachers, support staff,parents, and any other outside personnel involved in the program
Evaluates the assessment program and implements changes asneeded
Completes reports and evaluation logs as required by theschool district and state/federal guidelines
Communicates with parents, teachers, and staff on progressof the student
Remains informed regarding state and federal guidelines asit relates to special education
Plans, develops, and implements training for school districtstaff and teachers
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s Degree preferred
Teaching experience preferred
Certification as required by State and/or contractRegulations
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
