Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support our indirect procurement department. This individual will negotiate contracts and managing contract services that comply with HSE, quality, and procurement policies. The contract services areas may include but are not limited to maintenance, Project Engineering, IT, logistics, etc. This position is also responsible for negotiating pricing and contract terms and conditions and verifying compliance of such. They will initially and periodically analyze, evaluate, qualify, and select service providers based on procurement procedures and in compliance with company requirements. The position is expected to monitor market trends and conditions, periodically presenting to management on objective outcomes regarding RFPs and strategic initiatives (Value Creating Programs).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Manage key supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and market analysis to ensure continuity of supply and alignment with business needs
Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies across assigned spend categories, including proposal analysis, supplier capability assessments, negotiations, and final selection
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure procurement strategies align with organizational goals; represent the company professionally when engaging with suppliers at all levels
Develop, issue, and manage RFQs to obtain competitive bids, evaluate supplier proposals, and support strategic sourcing decisions in alignment with procurement objectives.
Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts with new and existing suppliers to drive cost savings, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with corporate policies
Administer and optimize corporate credit card and fleet management programs, ensuring cost-effective operations, compliance, and accurate reporting
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or a related field, preferred.
Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS), preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Minimum 3 years of experience in negotiation, contracts, logistics, procurement, and expediting
Skills and Knowledge
Experience managing bidding processes for site services and equipment
Proficient in procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sievo)
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Skilled in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently
Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset
High attention to detail in reviewing documents and procedures
Other Information
Travel
Occasional travel required (less than 10%) for business purposes, including on-site vendor visits and supplier engagement activities as needed.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment or hybrid environment. Based on the job description, the role will either use standard office equipment or equipment as specified on the plant floor to produce the products for the company.
