WESTERN COOPERATIVE CREDIT UNION Member Service Associate, Beach in Beach, North Dakota

Western Cooperative Credit Union's Beach branch has an opening for a Member Service Associate. This is a full time position getting approximately 40 hours per week. Hours will be Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Purpose: Perform transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high degree of accuracy. Provide account information by phone or in person, as well as information on the full range of credit union products and services. Open accounts for members, resolve issues, and professionally handle the member's daily needs. Provide a variety of transactional services to members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
  2. Provide general information regarding all credit union products and services or regarding the credit union's policies to new members or potential new members who inquire. Requires general knowledge of all credit union products and services and policies.
  3. Respond to members' requests, problems, and complaints and/or direct them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance.
  4. Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Accurately enter member information into the credit union's computer system and provide members with all necessary information for membership.
  5. Perform file maintenance on members' accounts on a regular basis. Research and resolve any discrepancies regarding members' accounts.
  6. Handle requests from member for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, CD transactions, and any other requests received from members.
  7. Promote credit union products and services based on member's needs.
  8. Process member mail transactions.
  9. Assist members in balancing their accounts.
  10. Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.
  11. Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and member balances.
  12. Accurately enters members' transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts.
  13. Assist with mail, email or phone transactions, when available.
  14. Orders daily supply of cash for teller drawer; and count, check, and package incoming cash and coins.
  15. Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
  16. Check and maintain the inventory of regular supplies and forms so that the credit union functions efficiently and without interruption. Notify supervisor of need to order supplies or forms as necessary.
  17. Scan and image all daily work.
