KMT Waterjet, Inc., a Shape Technologies Group company, is seeking a Senior Buyer (Buyer III) to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring a reliable supply chain by assessing, selecting, and managing supplier relationships. The Senior Buyer will work closely with the Purchasing Manager to execute procurement strategies that support manufacturing operations and customer sales.

Job Summary

KMT Waterjet, Inc., a Shape Technologies Group company, is seeking a Senior Buyer (Buyer III) to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring a reliable supply chain by assessing, selecting, and managing supplier relationships. The Senior Buyer will work closely with the Purchasing Manager to execute procurement strategies that support manufacturing operations and customer sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Procure materials and services to support manufacturing operations, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.

  • Evaluate and manage supplier capabilities, financial strength, operational performance, and quality management systems.

  • Execute purchase orders and quotes within various ERP systems (QAD, Oracle, SAP, M365, or equivalent).

  • Work within a global supplier network, ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and contractual obligations.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive process improvements and cost efficiencies.

  • Maintain a sense of urgency in conducting daily business, prioritizing manufacturing and customer needs.

  • Collaborate within a matrix organization, effectively communicating with various levels of management.

  • Travel up to 3-5 days per month for supplier assessments and process improvement initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES :

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to manage a broad range of responsibilities.

  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently under general supervision.

  • Excellent organization, planning, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive strategic procurement initiatives.

  • Professional and respectful in interactions with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

  • Results-oriented and goal-driven, with a focus on operational excellence.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Distribution Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Equivalent work experience in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations will be considered.

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing or industrial distribution environment.

  • Experience working with ERP systems such as QAD, Oracle, SAP, M365, or equivalent.
