ManpowerGroup Plant Controller in Battle Creek, Michigan
Plant Controller is Responsible for all accounting functions at the plant. Compiles statistics through complete accurate records of all financial transactions. Analyzes the transactions of all departments to ascertain the financial position of the plant. Supervises and directs all accounting personnel.
Fixed Assets/Project Accounting
Plant Controller will plan and monitor capital expenditure
Summarize capital expenditure plan for plant > ( Preparation & Authorization )
Monitor capital expenditures against CAR and or plan and or Internal Order for plant
Decide on capitalization of assets and settlement of CIP
Interact with program controller & CBUs for plant to create correct input
Provide information to BBC for write-offs, retirements, valuation and work-in-progress accounts
Verify fixed assets inventory and request adjustments
General Accounting
Plant Controller will Review and validate monthly, quarterly and yearly close
Adjust balance sheet accounts for accruals and prepare additional journal entries
Review and approve all journal entries
Adjust balance sheet accounts for accruals
Allocation methodologies
Provide appropriate documentation for reconciliation purposes
Provide information about inter- and intra-company discrepancies to BBC if required
Prepare trial balance reports. Validate final Trial balance
Management Reporting
Plant Controller will Prepare and evaluate variance analysis
Prepare variance analyses comparing actual results to budget / forecast
Analyze business performance by Plant/ Platform
Prepare financial support for capital appropriation requests for plant
Develop and distribute management reports for local management
Cost Accounting/Inventory Accounting
Perform inventory accounting
Plant Controller will Develop and monitor inventory accounting work instructions for materials and supply at plant level based on CFS instructions
Prepare and review annual variable and fixed cost allocation (For Machine Rates)
Work with Commercial team for cost recovery
Finance/Consolidation
Account for all inventory movements
Reconcile after physical inventory
Value in inventory
Full P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow analysis
Prepare and distribute financial information
Budgeting & Forecasting
Prepare, develop and review financial budget and forecast (Monthly & Annual)
Develop financial planning and budgeting work instructions at plant level
Work together with CBUs and Operations to receive and verify budgeting assumptions
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
5+ Years working experience in an Accounting or Finance position inside Manufacturing, automotive industry preferred.
Fluent in MS Office applications, advanced in MS Excel. Experience with SAP and Hyperion applications preferred.
Familiarity with Internal Controls and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex or ambiguous situations; ability to work under deadlines.
Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings by verbal and presentation format
