As an Sr Control Systems Engineer , you will play a critical role in supporting automation and control system reliability at our Baton Rouge manufacturing facility. This position is integral to enabling safe, efficient, and continuous operations through technical leadership and hands-on support of Distributed Control System technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Lead and support multiple DCS migration projects at the site, ensuring seamless transitions from legacy systems to Honeywell’s latest control solutions.
•Provide automation expertise for capital projects, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to integrate control strategies and hardware into new and upgraded systems.
•Implement logic modifications, alarm configuration changes, and loop tuning adjustments in response to 100 active PHA recommendations to improve safety and compliance.
•Provide support as needed for uninterrupted plant operations and rapid response to control system issues.
•Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize DCS hardware and software, ensuring system uptime and performance. Administer preventative maintenance routines for control systems and field instrumentation.
•Perform annual loop checks and functional verifications on over 300 safety-critical instruments, supporting safe operations and regulatory compliance.
YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•4+ years of experience with process control systems, including configuration, support, and troubleshooting
WE VALUE:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
•Strong knowledge of DCS platforms (e.g., Honeywell Experion, TDC3000, or similar systems)
•Experience with control loop tuning, alarm management, and safety system logic
•Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and provide on-call support
•Experience supporting chemical or refining manufacturing environments
•Familiarity with project lifecycle in capital engineering projects
•Knowledge of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and industry standards (ISA, IEC 61511)
