Humana Military is seeking a highly motivated transitioning service member for a DoD SkillBridge Internship as a Health System Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic operations within a leading healthcare organization. The intern will work alongside the Vice President of Clinical Operation’s and their Chief of Staff to support initiatives that drive organizational performance, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional project execution. This is a non-paid internship designed to bridge military experience with corporate healthcare strategy in preparation for civilian employment.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a strategic partner and consultant to the VP, Clinical Operations, driving initiatives aligned to organizational goals.
Coordinate and contribute to the annual strategic and operational planning process, including budget planning and resource allocation.
Conduct data analysis and support development of recommendations using internal and external sources.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of strategic initiatives and foster effective stakeholder communication.
Monitor, track, and report program/project performance, including key indicators, business objectives, and execution milestones.
Support development and dissemination of internal and external communication strategies to promote alignment and visibility.

Required Qualifications
Must be an active-duty U.S. military service member approved to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
U.S. Citizenship (required by government contract).
Bachelor’s degree.
5+ years of relevant experience in government contracts, cost management, operations, or other relevant/related experience.
Experience working within Military or Government healthcare environments.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced, complex environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field.
Experience in strategic planning, portfolio management, or business transformation.
Additional Information
- At the completion of the DOD SkillBridge Internship program, the goal is to transition you to full-time employment with Humana. However, this is not guaranteed.
