What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete designs of process engineering assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Use your knowledge of chemical process engineering fundamentals to help the client deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

  • Develop and design chemical manufacturing processes.

  • Apply the principles of chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics to solve problems that involve the production or use of chemicals, fuel, drugs, food, and many other products.

  • Contribute to the development of the next generation of products by designing, testing and/or validating products from prototype to market.

  • Be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of engineering projects and programs.

Ideal Background

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required.

Registration: Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification is highly preferred.

Experience: This position requires 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Provide day to day support for manufacturing processes

  • Lead improvement initiatives

  • Monitor performance of processes throughout production

  • Troubleshoot problems with manufacturing processes

  • Conduct analysis and prepare reports

  • Design experiments

  • Gather estimates of the cost of production

  • Lead productivity projects

  • Develop scope for capital improvements

  • Maintain engineering documents

  • Some relevant experience in manufacturing or engineering

  • An understanding of engineering principles and mathematics

  • Ability to focus on important information and identify key details

  • Capability of following guidelines and ensuring efficiency on tasks

  • An aptitude for, and interest in chemistry

  • Project management skill

  • Resource management skills

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving ability

  • The ability to work as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
