Job Description: We are looking for skilled Blasters to join our team. You will be responsible for blasting surfaces to specified standards without leaving faulty areas. You will assist in setting up for the job, training other workers, and completing work with little or no supervision. Knowledge of OSHA requirements relative to the shipbuilding industry is essential.
Responsibilities:
Blast surfaces to standard specified without leaving faulty areas.
Assist in setting up for the job and training other workers.
Complete work with little or no supervision.
Accurately operate, clean, and maintain all equipment.
Follow directions and communicate effectively in writing or orally.
Lead small work groups on the job as assigned.
Interpret and work from owner-supplied drawings, job specifications, instruction manuals, manufacturer’s handbooks, change orders, and contract specifications.
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in the Marine Industry.
Must be very productive while blasting interior or exterior surfaces.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance manuals, safety rules and regulations, and procedure manuals.
Must take direction and carry out the specified work scope.
C-7 Certification is a must
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $36.00/hr.
