Job Description: Senior Accountant

The Cost Accountant will participate in a wide variety of accounting functions to include general ledger, cost accounting, budget/forecasting, reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities: Senior Accountant Coordinates accounting functions with team members and ensures sound accounting practices are followed. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual margin/variance reporting by product, customer and warehouse. Coordinates with operations to ensure accuracy of overall Physical Inventory and related audits. Maintains and reconciles Fixed Assets schedules. Analyze product design, raw materials and manufacturing methods to determine effects on cost for both new product quotes and existing product engineering changes. Variance analysis and review of cost allocation assumptions and rates. Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly close, including the preparation of monthly journal entries. Assist in assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas. Analyze historical and current financial data to understand the companys financial status. Prepares financial analyses and reports as requested. Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and other general ledger accounts as requested. Assists with annual audit preparations and reporting. Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance. Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures. Performs other accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements: Senior Accountant Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP. Strong financial analysis skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and stress management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. Proficiency in Infor Syteline a plus. Ability to work with little to no supervision.
