Job Purpose

We are seeking a UI/UX Medical Device Designer to join our team in a fast-paced startup environment. As a UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for crafting visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces while ensuring a consistent and cohesive design system. Your keen attention to detail, ability to collaborate effectively, and capacity to give and receive feedback will be vital to your success in this role. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate medical requirements, user needs, and design testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as those set by the ISO and the FDA.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience.

  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.

  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.

  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.

  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.

  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.

  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.

  • Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience in UI/UX design, preferably in the medical device industry or other regulated industries.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous UI/UX design work, particularly with medical devices or healthcare-related products.

  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, product managers, and regulatory specialists.

  • Experienced working with academic and research devices and requirements.

  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.

  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.

  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.

  • Proficiency in English.
