Witham Family Hotels Front Desk Supervisor in Bar Harbor, Maine

We're seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Front Desk Supervisor to join our hospitality team at a picturesque waterfront hotel. Your support will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for our guests.

As a Front Desk Supervisor at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center, you will assist in overseeing the front desk team to deliver outstanding guest service. Provide efficient and friendly support during check-in/check-out processes, addressing guest needs. Work closely with the Front Desk Manager, providing assistance with supervising and coordinating front desk staff.

You will be working your magic on a full-time year-round basis. Your schedule will be 40 hours a week. Weekends, nights, and holidays are a must. The starting out rate is $21 an hour. At this time housing is not available for this position.

Here are some more details:

Essential Duties:

• Support and train the front desk and reservations agents

• Set an example of excellent customer service skills

• Be able to communicate smoothly and efficiently among departments

• Effectively resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction

• Oversee daily rates and availability

• Share knowledge of local attractions, business locations and points of interest

• Assist the Front Desk Manager

Skills Required:

• Excellent leadership, management and team building skills

• Strong communication skills, written and verbal

• Fair judgment and consideration when making decisions

• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Required Education and Experience

• High School diploma required; secondary education preferred.

• 2 years of hotel experience or similar office experience

• Supervisory experience required

Physical Demands

  • Extended periods of standing and working on a computer, walking, and some bending, lifting, twisting, carrying, kneeling, reaching, feeling and working. Ability to perform repetitive motions, talk, to reach, handle, grasp and communicate. Frequent computer keying using both hands and viewing material on a computer screen.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

  • Extended workdays may be required to accomplish tasks and meet workload demands during peak periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Performance Measurement

90 Day performance review, annual performance review, attendance, productivity, feedback from others, etc.
