s a Senior Supply Chain Optimization Engineer, you will help an outstanding distribution network to maintain a competitive edge by designing solutions for Supply Chain strategic and tactical initiatives. You will do this by developing strategic and tactical Supply Chain network design and multi-echelon inventory optimization. You will create end-to-end Supply Chain Optimization models as countermeasures, and you will be a key member of the Global Supply Chain Strategy team.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

Gather data using SQL and analyze/transform it using advanced Excel or your choice of coding language.

Leverage mathematical modeling and statistics skills to develop network optimization models, such as supply chain network design and inventory optimization using off-the-shelves tools (like Llamasoft) or deploy them with Gurobi.

Summarize analyses to develop content and present recommendations to leadership and partners to gain agreement on priorities and investments.

Convert data into meaningful visualizations using PowerBI/Tableau that provides insight into business operations and results.

Create model design standards and definitions to support development of learning and knowledge sharing repository.

Collaborate with Operations, Inventory, Sales, and other Supply Chain departments to support and improve operational processes/programs affecting daily performance of the entire Wesco’s supply chain.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management/Research, Logistics or equivalent.

3+ years’ experience in network design or optimization, consulting, operations planning, inventory planning, transportation, data science, or supply chain finance and analytics

Experience in Supply Chain Optimization/Strategy.

Familiarity with various supply chain areas such as planning, forecasting, transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and strategic sourcing.

Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems independently in ambiguous situations with limited direction.

Ability to communicate complex concepts simply, verbally, and in writing.

Ability to create high quality project reports and simple, succinct, and visually compelling PowerPoint presentations.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management/Research, Logistics or equivalent.

Highly skilled in supply chain analytics.

Knowledge of linear programming, integer programming, and mixed integer programming.

Knowledge of Llamasoft.

Ability to write effective and scalable codes.
