Job Summary:

As an Engineering Manager - Software Testing, the primary responsibility will be to lead and manage a team of software testers. And, responsible for ensuring that the software testing process is carried out efficiently and effectively, with a focus on achieving high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:

· Lead a team of software testers, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to team members.

· Manage workload distribution and resource allocation to ensure optimal utilization of team members' skills and expertise.

· Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify and address skill gaps through training and development initiatives.

  1. Test Planning and Strategy:

· Collaborate with other engineering managers, product owners, and stakeholders to define test strategies and goals for software releases.

· Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

· Develop and implement efficient testing methodologies, processes, and tools to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the testing team.

  1. Test Execution and Analysis:

· Coordinate the execution of test plans and ensure timely delivery of test reports, including defect tracking and resolution status.

· Monitor and analyze test results, identifying trends and patterns to drive continuous improvement in the software testing process.

· Lead root cause analysis efforts to identify and address systemic issues impacting quality, reliability, and performance.

  1. Stakeholder Collaboration:

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and customer support, to understand requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment on quality objectives.

· Communicate test progress, results, and risks to stakeholders, including providing executive-level status updates and reports.

  1. Process Improvement:

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements to optimize the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of the software testing process.

· Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in software testing and propose innovative approaches to enhance testing practices.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

· Proven experience of 10-15 years in managing software testing teams, with a strong background in test planning, execution, and analysis.

· Responsible for managing at least single area within a SBU/function/department.

· Responsible for cascading organizational goals from engineering / functional support standpoint.

· Is expected to provide inputs to AOP, LRP and ensure to deliver within the available engineering budget.

· Lead internal and external teams to work together to deliver overall product outcomes.

· Deep understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and their impact on testing processes.

· Strong knowledge of software testing principles, techniques, and tools, including test automation frameworks.

· Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a diverse team.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

· Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage competing priorities and meet project milestones.
