SC Department of Public Safety Human Resources Manager I in Bamberg County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Director, performs a variety of complex duties in support of the Human Resources Office including recruitment, classification and compensation, employee performance management, employee relations and benefits administration. Specific job duties include, but are not limited to: Serving as Benefits Administrator, keeping apprised of all benefit changes (insurance, retirement, deferred compensation, FMLA, etc.), responsible for the preparation and posting of position announcements for both permanent and temporary job vacancies; assisting with classification and compensation program; processing human resources actions for the HR/Payroll Module within the Colleague ERP; administering the employee leave program; coordinating Workers Compensation activities to include counseling with employees; counsels employees on retirement programs and other related programs and ensures that all paperwork is processed. Conducts confidential internal investigations and complex special assignments, prepares and maintains specialized records and reports.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years experience in human resource management programs.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and (2) two years professional experience in human resources, payroll, insurance or retirement programs. Experience in higher education, payroll, and a background in human resources operation software preferred. Experience in Colleague ERP.

Additional Comments

Successful candidate should have expert level knowledge of human resources related state and federal laws and regulations. Successful candidate should also demonstrate excellent communication skills, customer service, time management and organizational skills; must have exceptional multi-tasking capability and attention to detail. Knowledge of Colleague ERP, Excel, and Microsoft Office is strongly preferred.

Salary: $33,494.00 - $61,975.00 Annually
