Johns Hopkins University Research Technologist in Baltimore, Maryland

Under the general supervision of a faculty investigator or laboratory supervisor, we are seeking a Research Technologist who will be responsible for performing routine analyses and tests on animal or human fluids and/or tissue or cultured cell lines.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follows established procedures or protocols and utilizes aseptic technique to perform laboratory tests and/or experiments which include multiplex immunohistochemistry, CODEX, basic tissue culture, cell separation methods, electrophoretic separations, assays, basic molecular biology.

  • Utilize in vivo models in experiments.

  • Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory formulas and procedures.

  • Machines and/or equipment used on the job, include % of time used:

  • Operates basic laboratory equipment such as centrifuge, pH meter, analytical balance, incubator, scintillation counter, spectrophotometer, light microscope, the CODEX equipment and/or utilizes laminar flow hood.

  • Operates lab computers for multiplex immunohistochemistry quantification and data analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.

  • Some related post-undergraduate work experience preferred.

Starting Salary Range: Min $15.50 - Max $26.00 HRLY ($42,432 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
