Johns Hopkins University Research Data Analyst in Baltimore, Maryland

The Division of Cardiology is seeking a casual Research Data Analyst who will play a central role in designing, conducting, and sharing research. The Research Data Analyst will support the Director of the Center on a wide range of projects across sectors.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare research plans and designs, including methodologies for quantitative research.

  • Conduct analysis for research projects using the appropriate methodology.

  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from federal and private databases, national surveys, longitudinal studies, etc.

  • Prepare, disseminate, analyze qualitative data collection instruments.

  • Recruit, prepare, and interview key informants.

  • Conduct literature reviews from appropriate sources.

  • Summarize project results.

  • Present findings to internal and external partners in the form of abstracts, webpages, blog posts, or journal articles for publication.

  • Coordinate conference calls and meetings for various research projects.

  • Plan, support, and communicate meetings.

  • Generate reports, charts and tables to create presentations.

  • Present research data to large and small groups of stakeholders at meetings.

  • Serve as a resource for research staff and stakeholders regarding data issues, collection, entry, quality, transfer.

  • Prepare reports and applications to funding agencies and internal sources including IRB.

  • Conduct reviews of the scientific literature and maintain bibliography.

  • Meet with Director to review study progress.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and be results driven.

  • Must have good people skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent research and analytical skills.

  • Experience in applying survey methodology and/or qualitative data collection methodology applied to policy research or evaluation.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with library research procedures, completing literature searches culminating in the development of and maintenance of a reference library.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Three years related experience.

  • Fluency in quantitative analytical methods, and the ability to work with and understand complex datasets.

  • Experience with macro and SQL SAS programming and Python.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $24.35 - $42,71 HRLY ($65,400 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
