The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for two full time, Surgical Podiatrists to meet the needs of its expanding patient population. Working in one of the Nation’s largest and most advanced healthcare organizations, this individual will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary foot and ankle program in the Department of Orthopaedics and will provide care in several well-established ambulatory clinic settings. Daily activities will include management and care of all diagnostic, preventative and/or therapeutic podiatric foot and ankle pathologies including routine foot evaluations, diabetic foot evaluations and care, nail avulsions, skin lesion biopsies, wound/ulcer care, minor ankle injuries and prescribing medications and custom orthotics. Candidates must possess a Doctor of Podiatry degree from an accredited school of Podiatry and be board certified/eligible from the ABFAS and/or ABPM. Must also be eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting. The anticipated start date is April 2024. Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.
