Morgan Stanley People Strategy Manager in Baltimore, Maryland

Department Profile The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community.

The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Team within Finance's Chief Operating Office (COO) is comprised of location strategy, business management and strategy, analytics, and communication and training teams. The team is responsible for oversight of Finance's people strategy, including recruitment, training, internal communication and engagement. The team is also responsible for division-wide metrics and identifying optimal location strategy for the Finance organization.

The CAO team is currently seeking a Director to support our People Strategy and HR Transformation efforts. The role would report into the Finance People Strategy and Transformation Lead. The Director would partner across the CAO team, the global Finance organization, Human Resources and Talent Development to support initiatives focused on HR Modernization, Retention and Career Development and associated Change Management / Adoption strategies. The role is in a fast-paced environment and requires an individual who can operate independently, is delivery-oriented and has superior judgement.

You Will

  • Support project management and execution of Finance's people and talent objectives
  • Support People Strategy and Transformation Lead on HR Modernization workstreams for Finance, including Job Architecture and HR Data
  • Support and lead initiatives related to talent development across all levels of the Finance organization
  • Partner and drive coordination with coverage and learning & development
  • Build strong partnerships with business leaders and functional areas to promote effective communication strategies and accountable adoption strategies
  • Flexibility and interest in jumping to support ad hoc projects/deliverables

You Have

  • 3-5 years of work experience; preferably with exposure to People Strategy, HR or Learning & Development
  • Demonstrated project and change management experience, preferably in a complex, global organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships and build strong cross-functional partnerships
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic and organizational skills
  • Able to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, balancing long-term projects with more urgent, immediate demands
  • Diversity of thought
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to adapt to your audience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Motivations to be accountable and deliver positive results
  • An ability to analyze information and present it back within an agreed timeline
  • A strong sense of organization and time management skills
  • Worked in a high-paced environment and use multi-tasking to your advantage
