HYBRID WORK OPPORTUNITY IN THE BALTIMORE / METRO AREA! MUST BE COMMUTABLE TO THE BALTIMORE AREA 2-3 DAYS / WEEK.

Robert Half has partnered with a long-time client in the area to hire their next Financial Reporting Manager. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Manager to lead our Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting process. The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of all required financial reports and disclosures in compliance with SEC regulations and accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SEC reporting, technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage complex financial reporting projects.

A sample of responsibilities includes:

  • Lead the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual financial reports on Forms 10-Q and 10-K, including financial statements, footnotes, and management's discussion and analysis (MD& A).

  • Coordinate and manage the financial reporting calendar to ensure timely completion of SEC filings and adherence to reporting deadlines.

  • Research and interpret new accounting pronouncements, SEC regulations, and other guidance to ensure compliance and assess the impact on financial reporting.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and external auditors, to gather necessary information, resolve issues, and review disclosures.

  • Prepare and review complex accounting transactions, including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, business combinations, and impairment assessments.

  • Conduct detailed reviews of financial statements and disclosures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements.

  • Develop and maintain documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls related to SEC reporting and compliance.

  • Assist in the preparation of other SEC filings and disclosures, such as registration statements, proxy statements, and other periodic reports as required.

  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, SEC regulations, and industry best practices, and assess their impact on financial reporting.

  • Provide training, guidance, and support to finance and accounting teams on SEC reporting requirements and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation required

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in SEC reporting, with a strong understanding of SEC regulations, US GAAP, and financial reporting requirements.

  • Experience working in a public company environment, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role within SEC reporting.

  • Deep technical accounting knowledge, including proficiency in researching and applying complex accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and resolve complex accounting issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in financial reporting and analysis.
