GE Aerospace Executive Supplier Development Team Leader in Baltimore, Maryland

Job Description Summary

The Executive Supplier Development Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team that partners with suppliers to develop their capabilities. This role involves working closely with suppliers to enhance their performance, ensuring they meet GE Aerospace's standards for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier development, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Supplier Development team to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Develop and implement supplier development strategies to improve supplier performance in alignment with GE Aerospace's SQDC priorities.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to enhance their capabilities.

  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of supplier processes and performance.

  • Facilitate training and development programs for suppliers to ensure they meet GE Aerospace's standards.

  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality, and engineering, to ensure supplier development initiatives are aligned with overall business goals.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supplier base using lean principles and methodologies.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in supplier development, supply chain management, or a related area.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Kata, Hoshin Kanri (HK), and Standard Work.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require travel to supplier locations.

  • Office and manufacturing environment.
