POSITION SUMMARY :

Works under general supervision and prepares, seasons, and cooks food for Hospital patients, employees, and visitors. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes, using a variety of manual and/or electric kitchen utensils and equipment, such as mixers, slicers, blenders, choppers, scales and measures.

Education:

In accordance with DOL NRS implantation guidelines, work requires a high intermediate basic education at a level of math and reading as normally acquired through the completion of a sixth grade education.

Knowledge: Work requires a basic knowledge of food products and terminology, as well as the ability to read and follow recipes/instructions.

Skills: Work requires the ability to read, follow instructions, and prepare food in accordance with the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)food safety program. Requires the ability to operate machinery, food slicers, read menus, work schedules and prices. Ability to perform simple math calculations is necessary to count and monitor inventory. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with hospital patients, visitors and staff to provide courteous services.

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc : Serve safe sanitation certification is required.

Work Experience :Requires a minimum of one year of prior cooking experience in a food service operation.

Rotating Shift / Casul on Call (0- 19 hours per week) / Weekend Work Required
