Department Profile: The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Team Profile: Our Balance Sheet Disclosures and Reporting team is currently seeking to engage with Baltimore's leading talent. We are particularly interested in speaking with you if you have demonstrated experience and fundamental understanding of a balance sheet, liquidity and funding activities as well as regulatory reporting production. Reach out if you have experience in using financial reporting systems and are comfortable with establishing and meeting critical deadlines, as well as tracking and driving execution. The successful candidate will have experience managing a team, strong communication skills - both verbal and written - as well as the ability to present complex issues to various types of audiences in an easy-to-understand manner.

Responsibilities: - You will deliver Balance Sheet reporting and analysis as needed for Business Unit and Finance Management on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, including commentary and required documentation for large balance sheet moves. - You will conduct in-depth analysis of variances, incorporating the understanding of accounting issues, economic events and their impact. - You will prepare due diligence review decks and participate in discussions with key stakeholders. - You will review and report monthly Books to Reported differences and provide explanations on variances. - You will review and update relevant policies and procedures - You will collaborate with Sales & Trading, Risk Management, Technology, Operations and other Controllers on a day-to-day basis to ensure accurate Balance Sheet reporting and analysis. - You will assist in driving process efficiencies and continuous process improvement efforts to strengthen controls

Preferred Qualities: - You have an interest or familiarity with Financial Markets and Product and understanding of relevant US regulatory reports. - You have previous work experience in Financial Services, Audit or Accounting. - You have worked against challenging stakeholders and/ or deadlines to deliver positive results. - You will be able to maintain a strong sense of organization and time management skills. - You are a keen multi-tasker and use a high-paced environment to your advantage. - Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic that works effectively in cross-functional team environment
