KBAK/KBFX is looking for a reporter for our weekday morning show. You must be an excellent storyteller! If you are a morning person with a great personality and strong storytelling skills then this is a great opportunity for you! We want someone who has the energy and creativity to do compelling live shots for 4 hours of live morning news each weekday. This person will general assignment report following the morning newscast.

Job Skills and Experience:

• Must be a strong writer

• Sharp wit

• The ability to work well with others

• A self-starter who can generate his or her own story ideas on a daily basis

• Above-average organizational skills

• Exemplary communication skills

• Collaborate with Producers and Executive Producers to generate franchise and segment content including researching and setting up interviews

• Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local stories

• Leverage relationships within the community for the purpose of developing connections that lead to enterprise storytelling

• Active engagement on social media is required

• Perform field reporting, fill-in for other shows and other temporary assignments

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Ability to work the early morning shift

• Previous reporting experience is preferred

• Considerable live shot experience is preferred

• Previous experience working in a team environment is a must

• Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Comfortable being live daily in our morning newscasts is required

• Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

The hourly compensation range for this role is $17.00 to $17.60. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental, and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
