Position objectives

The primary position objective is to implement, maintain and enhance the Personal computing Environment, IT infrastructure and provide end-user support services at the specified Ingersoll rand locations.

principle responsibilities

  • On-site IT technician at the assigned Ingersoll Rand location/s

  • Provide 2nd level on-site and remote IT support

  • Respond to, troubleshoot and resolve end-user computer hardware and software issues

  • Provide local hands-on support for Global SME Infrastructure teams (Server, Network, Security)

  • Support SME Infrastructure team initiatives and deployments

  • Manage local computer assets and refresh process

  • Participate in local, regional and global IT projects and initiatives as directed.

  • Maintain stable and operational local IT Infrastructure environment

  • Identify and highlight continuous improvement actions

  • Log incidents in ticketing system for all support work

  • Maintain Global IT standards and processes

  • Provide out of hours’ emergency support on-site when required

  • Maintain local server backup Infrastructure

  • Engage in collaboration with the wider Regional and Global technical teams.

  • Other responsibilities as directed

Qualifications and Education Requirements

2-5 Years’ experience in a similar role

ITIL Certifications desirable

Preferred Skills

Team player but also have the ability to work alone and on own initiative

High level of customer focus essential

Good verbal and written English communication skills

Good problem solving skills

Desktop hardware and software technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills

Experience or exposure to as many of the following as possible:

Windows Client OS (7/10), Printers, Office 365 suite portfolio, Teams, Active Directory, Windows Server, TCP/IP, SCCM, Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls, LAN/WLAN, SDWAN, Cabling and Fibre technologies
