KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER

As a Key Account Manager (m/f/d) at embecta, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our Diabetes business in Germany. You will manage strategic key accounts within the healthcare sector, build long-term partnerships, and develop tailored solutions along the patient care pathway. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and serve as the face of embecta in the market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain long-term business relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and medical specialists in the diabetes field

  • Full revenue responsibility for assigned accounts and achievement of agreed sales targets

  • Identify and acquire new strategic B2B customers while managing and expanding existing key accounts

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and market share

  • Conduct market analyses and monitor competition to identify trends and growth opportunities

  • Organize and participate in trade fairs, conferences, and training events

  • Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Marketing, Product Management (matrix structure), and Customer Service to ensure optimal customer experience

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a comparable qualification

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales or key account management, ideally in the healthcare sector or a related field

  • In-depth knowledge of diabetes-related products, services, and reimbursement systems

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a confident and professional demeanor

  • Strong customer focus and the ability to build and maintain long-term partnerships

  • Willingness to travel and adapt to a dynamic work environment

  • Fluency in German and good command of English (spoken and written)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Solid understanding of the diabetes and chronic disease market landscape

  • Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office

  • Strong planning, analytical, and sales management skills

  • Team-oriented mindset combined with self-motivation and excellent organizational abilities

  • Confident communication with decision-makers at all levels

  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt in a fast-changing market environment
