Bad Axe Animal Clinic, Inc. Veterinarian in Bad Axe, Michigan

The Bad Axe Animal Clinic is a small veterinarian practice established in 1971 in Bad Axe, Michigan, serving mainly canine and feline patients. We are seeking a full-time veterinarian to provide small animal services in our community. The highly trained support staff offer a family-like working environment, with a low turnover rate. The surgical suite and examination rooms were remodeled in 2016 and offer top-of-the-line Idexx equipment, including Procyte, Catalyst, Sedivue, and Snapshot readers. A new digital X-ray machine and Cornerstone software allow for the practice to run smoothly and efficiently.

Bad Axe is located in the heart of the thumb and is a great place to live and work. It is a close-knit community with small-town values. The beautiful Great Lakes surround us with many options for outdoor hobbies such as boating, fishing, camping, hiking, or hunting. Duties:

  • Examine animals and diagnose their health problems - Perform surgeries, such as spaying and neutering, and dental procedures

  • Prescribe medication and administer vaccinations - Advise pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and behavior

  • Conduct laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis - Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care for animals - Maintain accurate medical records for all patients

  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school

  • State licensure to practice veterinary medicine

  • Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Effective communication skills to interact with pet owners and staff members

  • Compassion and empathy towards animals and their owners

  • Ability to handle stressful situations with composure

  • Orthopedic experience preferred, not required.

  • Part-time services would be considered with the right qualifications and experience.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
