Aerotek Barge Logistics Operations Manager in Avondale, Louisiana
We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to take over the barge & logistics operations on the Mississippi River close to the greater New Orleans area in Louisiana. All applicants must be comfortable relocating for a permanent role if not currently residing in the greater New Orleans area.
Description:
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of mining professionals, including superintendents, general foreman, dispatchers and equipment operators.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for optimization.
• Identify cost savings and continuous improvement in the day-to-day mining process.
• Responsible for coordinating the annual operating budget in conjunction with departmental annual operations budgets.
• Work with Logistics Manager to efficiently plan product placement in coordination with vessel loading schedules.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing or oversight responsibility of safety programs.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC or ability to obtain a TWIC required
• Self- starter with strong leadership, communications, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s Degree preferable and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in marine terminal or mining management (coal and petcoke experience preferred)
