Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. You will diagnose and repair issues, ensuring the smooth operation of various mechanical and electrical systems. This role involves working with a range of tools and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with external contractors when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.

  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and create an action plan to repair.

  • Diagnose problems or repair machines, discussing machine operation variations with others as needed.

  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as PLCs and wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.

  • Repair and maintain the physical structure of the building.

  • Install, program, or repair automated machinery such as robots or programmable controllers.

  • Set up and operate machine tools such as grinders, drills, taps, sawzalls, and FS40 Manual Shredder machines. Repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.

  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance as required and train machine operators.

  • Operate a forklift or other powered industrial equipment as required.

  • Keep shop, toolbox, and work areas clean.

  • Make decisions to bring in outside contractors when necessary and coordinate their activities while on site.

  • Complete daily inspection of Boiler Room equipment.

  • Work with Corporate Engineering and Maintenance regularly to minimize repair expenses.

  • Collaborate with leaders and team members across departments to plan, coordinate, design, and implement continuous improvement ideas to enhance plant efficiency.

  • Assist engineering with capital project activities.

  • Assist with writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation.

  • Develop and lead the Centerline Program on equipment.

  • Follow NFPA 70, LOTO, and OSHA Safety rules.

  • Ensure BRC protocols are implemented and audited as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The facility operates in a GMP environment, which requires no jewelry, fake eyelashes, or piercings. It can be cold in certain areas of the facility, so jackets are provided. The floor is wet, but the area is well-lit and relatively comfortable.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avon, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.66 - $28.66/hr.
