Supporting the Medical Devices U.S. Sales Division, the Strategic Pricing Infrastructure Analyst delivers complex analyses including long-term price planning, Gross-To-Net forecasting, and impact models incorporating portfolio, customer, and market landscape changes. Partnering with the Field Force, Executive Accounts, Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Compliance, the candidate will be a significant contributor and influencer to build, refine, analyze, and monitor innovative solutions to maximize profitability and minimize risk throughout the product life cycle. The position will counsel Marketing Product Managers in the planning and execution of optimal launch logistics and price strategies on new product launches for all Medical Device Divisions: Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM), Electrophysiology (EP) / Heart Failure (HF), Vascular (VAS) and Structural Heart (SH). The candidate will possess a deep understanding of the role of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), creating contract "pre deal" and "post deal" analytics, and providing substantiated recommendations for Business Unit and Enterprise Account leadership pertaining to GPO / IDN business proposals and national product launches. The role will drive the development of metrics tied to the performance of implemented contracting and pricing strategies, utilizing all key data sets. The Analyst will develop and produce regular reports and executive dashboards to address evolving business questions and needs.
The candidate must have strong technical acumen and the ability to handle complex database software, structures, and various programming languages, such as SQL Server Management Studio, VBA for MS Office, and SQL query language. The Analyst will have an intricate understanding of data extraction from SAP and other internal Medical Device databases to develop appropriate launch analytics and strategies. This position will also play a key role on various cross-functional team projects that will require the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must work effectively in a high pressure, high-demand environment and make sound judgements on high level questions and/or issues.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Influence price strategy development for newly launched products across all Business Units. Counsel Marketing teams on existing pricing tactics within the targeted launch market. Advise Marketing on GPO and IDN contract strategies.
Execute communication strategies developed for all product launch and retirements. Collaboration with Marketing, Contracting Management, and Sales (CSEs, AVPs, RSDs, etc.) in multiple divisions to influence and educate on the launch in general, plus specifics concerning the contracting and pricing execution plan.
Design and develop automated, analytical tools (models) to facilitate business deal analyses for Enterprise Accounts and National Sales teams across multiple BUs (CRM, EP, SH, VAS, HFM). Analyses include price impact on gross and net revenue, novel pricing structures and margin impact analysis
Develop Power Bi dashboards that provide key business insights to assist senior leadership in strategic decision making
Develop and customize Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to create and update existing database tables to support a wide variety of organizational tools and reports
Along with business operations partners, utilize technical expertise with tools such as Power BI, Excel, Salesforce, SAP, Business Objects, and SharePoint to execute improvement programs to streamline the flow of various system operations.
Utilize VBA scripting language to support internal tools and other automation underneath the Microsoft portfolio
Partner with BU leadership and marketing to execute national price increases. Requires extensive pre-increase analytics, evaluations, and guidance concerning corporate leadership approval, pricing mechanics, GPO, IDN, and Enterprise Accounts dynamics and a complex understanding of which customers are, and are not, eligible for a price increase prior to execution. Task will involve analytics of complex invoicing, contracting, and pricing post-execution to determine return on investment
Possess ability to manage and influence multiple relationships including Marketing, Enterprise Accounts field teams, BU field teams, peers and key relationships with external customers. Must be able to build rapport with diverse personalities.
Assists with training field sales on launch strategies and policies, typically on a day-to-day, deal-to-deal basis, on tools, policies, and procedures and contractual terms.
Partner with Legal, Contracting Managers, Rebate Managers on contracting templates for new product launches terms and conditions and rebate programs. This includes working with customer templates and ensuring appropriate vetting through other departments which may include IP legal, privacy, OEC, LR&C, tech services, security, finance, risk management and customer service amongst others.
Perform comparisons to industry/company benchmarks to identify contracting opportunities and best practices. Work in industry leading customer space and must identify and highlight new trends to leadership as well as peer group.
Follows all management approved processes and procedures; alerts management when circumstances require deviation to the approved processes and procedures. This includes understanding and complying with corporate US policies and procedures.

Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree
MBA preferred
Technical Skills & Experience
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business, finance or strategic pricing and contracting is required. Prior experience as Abbott Medical Devices Enterprise Accounts Business Analyst is preferred.
Microsoft Power BI proficient (data modeling & visualization)
Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate and SQL Server
Proficient in the use of Excel (Functions, Power Query, VBA etc.), Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and preferably OneDrive
Database management experience (Azure/On-Prem/SSIS)
Excellent written and oral communications skills with attention to detail and ability to work with general supervision and high level direction
Strong quantitative & qualitative analysis skills, including experience working with large data sets
Ability to apply critical thinking skills to problem solve when working on complex and in some instances ambiguous projects
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with remote sites, business partners, and Sales personnel.
Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
