Charles Schwab Sr Specialist - Software Development & Engineering in Austin, Texas

Duties : Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Design and develop software solutions and business process solutions based on business needs and requirements. Work with architects to define and implement solutions to new problems and re-engineer existing parts of the system that need refactoring and optimization. Apply existing patterns to avoid unnecessary complexity. Work with the architects to create artifacts to documents and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and present to team, managers, and governance. Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommend changes in policies and procedures. Complete sizing requests as needed and provide input on sizing requests to architects for large-scale initiatives. Position allows for partial remote work (2-3 times in the office). Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $130,100 to $160,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field and 3 years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Requires 3 years of related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Modify and implement REST and SOAP-based Web-Service APIs using C#, Java, or Go; Develop front-end single page application using Angular, Typescript, Javascript and CSS; Distributed multi-tier applications to store user preferences for end caching solutions using WMI, NoSQL, Mongo DB, and SQL; Host and deploy applications on cloud platform using Amazon Web Services (AWS); Develop Software using the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) that includes Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Object Oriented Programming (OOPS), and design patterns that include MVC, Singleton, Factory, State, and Strategy; and, Preparing Confluence documentation of project details, utilizing Jira for requirement and issue tracking, GIT version control systems to maintain the code, and Splunk to analyze the logs, create dashboards for monitoring.
