Senior Principal Software Engineer

Role

Development and maintenance of customer and factory diagnostics for Dell's products in a team-oriented environment. Analysis and design of diagnostic tests for new hardware. Debug, test, issue resolution and factory support. `Interaction with product development teams, vendors and others

Requirements

  • BSCS/BSEE or equivalent experience and 5+ years of experience

  • Engineering background in developing diagnostics, BIOS, device drivers or similar low-level code

  • Audio, System Board, System Management, NIC, Memory, SAS/SATA, PCIe, RAID, USB, and/or Video

  • Expert level C/C++ software development skills including object-oriented design

  • Strong in PERL and PYTHON

  • In depth knowledge of PC architecture, and an ability to understand PC hardware specifications and to develop comprehensive hardware diagnostics from them

Preferences

  • Previous experience in developing diagnostics for high volume PC manufacturing

  • MSCS/MSEE will require strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Intel x86 assembly language, UEFI, Microsoft Windows and Linux including device drivers

  • Project management experience
