Oracle Senior Business Development Executive -MySQL OnPrem in Austin, Texas

Job Description

Oracle is looking for a Senior Business Development Executive to support our enterprise account activities related to MySQL OnPrem. You will kick starts new projects within top accounts, train and support regional Oracle MySQL teams, as well as partners to deliver and scale out programs.

This is a full time in-office position based in Austin, TX

Experience and Qualification:

  • Proven experience in opensource database technologies including MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL etc.

  • Excellent communication skill in English. Excellent written / oral / presentation / influencing / negotiation skills.

  • 10 years IT industry experience with comprehensive solution selling experience.

  • Experience in selling database and infrastructure software.

  • Customer focus and ability to build relationships.

  • Consultative selling experience, able to position solutions at an executive level.

  • Ability to work independently and work as a team.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, business, marketing or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

This role is a combination of a Business Development Consultant and a Senior Business Development Executive.

In a MySQL Business Development Consultant role you will :

  • Use analysis, CRM systems and internet tools to efficiently prospect and prioritize sales leads.

  • Contact marketing generated leads and follow a qualification process in order to identify prospects that are appropriate for sales opportunities.

  • Support the inside and field sales representatives in territory with proactive approach to building pipeline and collaborative efforts to build strategies and execute marketing plans.

  • Meet daily outbound call quota.

  • Project a professional, high quality image to potential MySQL users and customers when answering inbound customer calls and when making outbound calls.use CRM system to track lead activity and qualification progress and use system tools to pass qualified leads as appropriate.

  • Document and communicate information gathered during qualification process calls. meet monthly and quarterly target on leads passed to sales representatives, opportunities resulting from leads and bookings resulting from conversions.

In addition to core business development responsibilities this role will function as an overlay sales personnel providing specialist product expertise to the business development team.

Partners with MySQL sales representatives to qualify and close new business on Oracle solutions. Provides specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales representatives’ territory. Leads teams in the business development process for establishing market visibility and opportunity progression. May provide training to business development and sales on industry/solutions. Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years applicable experience preferred. Subject matter expertise in industry/product space. Knowledge of key industry leaders and management. Knowledge of Oracle competition. Presentation and product demonstration experience. Previous consultative selling experience preferred. Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers. Travel may be needed. BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work with marketing team to drive awareness, and sales and business development teams for pipeline generation and progression.

  • Support enterprise account activities related to MySQL and Open-Source technologies. Kick starts new projects within top accounts, focusing on account-specific use cases, teaching them how to use Oracle Cloud to solve real business problems, and co-developing solutions with customers for production use.

  • Train and support regional Oracle MySQL teams as well as partners to deliver and scale out programs.

US: Hiring Range: from $105,000 to $185,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 60/40 - 70/30.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
