Provide journey-level work in construction, maintenance, repair for carpentry, and locksmith. Repair and replace cabinets, counter tops, window blinds, doors, frames, roofs, and ceiling tiles. Replace and install tile (VCT, vinyl, ceramic, cove base) demo and install tub surrounds, windows (glass replacement), repair or replace Sheetrock walls and ceilings, etc. Repair, re-key, replace, and troubleshoot locks. Perform make-ready work and assist other trades as needed.Analyze computer-generated work orders and prioritize repairs. Use troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques to identify and perform work and coordinate repairs with other trades as needed. Maintain required tools and equipment. Charge out all material and account for all inventory used and return unused back into the inventory system. Inspect and evaluate work as needed to meet standards.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Communicate with supervisor, staff, and student residents regarding needed repairs and work order status. Follow through with written and oral instructions, from supervisor.Complete and submit paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure that all safety and protocols are followed and ensure to properly report any unsafe conditions. Fill out the required reports if an injury occurs.Drive a UT vehicle to work site, transport equipment and supplies as needed to perform routine maintenance and repairs. Required to be on the on-call rotation schedule to respond to emergencies outside of normal work hours and during holidays, carry a UT cell phone,and make emergency repairs 24/7 as needed. Participate in assessment development throughout the year.Promote professional development of self and all staff to improve knowledge and work skills through ongoing training and workshops.
