Aerotek Maintenance Engineer in Austin, Texas

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer- Weekly Pay up to $28/hr

Job Description

The main function of this position is to be a part of the PM team for the Solar Edge side. The bulk of the work involves performing preventative maintenance on machines and troubleshooting breakdowns as necessary. The primary responsibility is to complete the regular PM schedule and ensure continuous system operation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system components.

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components, returning them to serviceability.

  • Ensure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment is completed on a regularly scheduled basis.

  • Understand PLCs and read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and complex automated system drawings.

  • Collaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systems.

  • Assist engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for all automation solutions as per specifications.

  • Identify machine malfunctions and isolate the failure mechanism in a cost-effective manner through troubleshooting.

  • Perform preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules.

  • Perform calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules.

  • Assist process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment.

  • Analyze and implement corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms.

  • Disassemble instruments and equipment, inspecting components for defects.

  • Align, repair, replace, and balance component parts and circuitry.

  • Assist engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.

  • Perform both software and hardware maintenance at the highest level.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical maintenance

  • PLC troubleshooting

  • Basic electrical understanding

  • Hydraulic troubleshooting

  • Pneumatic troubleshooting

  • 480V and 3-phase motors

  • Understanding of electrical symbols

  • Ability to read electrical diagrams

  • 1-2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Knowledge of what causes a fuse to blow

  • Understanding of VFD (Variable Frequency Drive)

  • Computer skills

  • Experience with material handling, automation, and/or robotics equipment

  • Electronic assembly: schematics, PCB loading, mechanical assembly

  • Cable crimping, harness assembly, connector/wire soldering, cable prepping

  • Testing with oscilloscope, cable & harness testing, troubleshooting, component testing, logic analyzer

  • Machine operations: automatic component insertion equipment, surface mount insertion equipment, wave soldering

  • Mechanical & electrical tools: power air guns, taps & dies, alignment tools, measuring tools

Work Environment

These positions are for the weekend shift overnights. You will work only 36 hours a week. The hours for this schedule are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:00pm to 5:30am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
