Brief Job Description
Seeking an exceptional Security Architect to engage on project efforts in Data, Cloud, and On-prem security architectures. As the Security Architect, you will work side by side with our Development, Operations, Business units, and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure our environments are secured and monitored. The right person for this role will have a broad technical security background with a focus on security design, detection, prevention, and response to security threats.
Work Environment
Interacting with the enterprise architects and other security team members on the day to day. There are 5 total people on the team currently.
Will be expected to be a hybrid work setting, 2-3 days on site. Locations are Austin, TX - San Diego, CA - Tempe, AZ - NYC
Top Skills Details:
Worked on a data center migration. This person has done security reviews before apps move to the new data center. They have around 100 apps to move to the new data center but have only moved 1-2
Security Architecture- we are looking for someone who was a hands on security engineer who has now moved into an Architecture specific role ( But a SECURITY Architect role- please refrain from sending only cloud architect without the security piece). This person will be spending 80% of their time working with Security reviews: building out the architecture diagrams, reviews, patterns, etc - very hands on with security!!
Deep understanding of cloud security frameworks and best practices. Proficiency in identity and access management (IAM), encryption technologies, and network security.
Extensive experience in designing and implementing cloud security solutions.
Experience with security tools and technologies like firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management.
They are a blend of Azure and AWS but majority AWS. This person needs to have spent most of their time working in AWS but would be great if they have Azure experience as well.
Enterprise level experience- they have a big environment and therefore this individual needs to have worked for a company with a big environment

The client's Information Security team is seeking an exceptional Security Architect to engage on project efforts in Data, Cloud, and On-prem security architectures. As the Security Architect you will work side by side with our Development, Operations, Business units, and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure our environments are secured and monitored. The right person for this role will have a broad technical security background with a focus on security design, detection, prevention, and response to security threats.
Responsibilities:
• Supports efforts to mature network, infrastructure and data security capabilities
• Serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on industry best practices.
• Server as a subject matter expert, supporting M&A integrations and secure design and solution implementation.
• Creates best-of-class infrastructure/data security architecture designs and patterns using defensible industry reference architectures and standards.
• Collaborate with Data and Enterprise Architects on securing data with advanced methods such as masking and tokenization. Considering the pros & cons of each security control.
• Document, socialize, maintain, and train key stakeholders on security requirements that enables secure design and build of solutions.
• Identify cybersecurity issues, strengths and weaknesses across various cyber domains and partner organizations that introduce risk and provide solutions.
• Develops, reviews, and approves cybersecurity security standards and works with partner cyber domain teams and organization to align on security requirements, while tracking and validating controls are being met
• Participate in and drive security advisory boards and committees, providing security architecture review and process ownership for new and existing solutions.
• Analyze potential impact of new threats and exploits, develop, and implement solutions to mitigate those threats, and communicate risks to relevant business units.

10+ years’ experience in information security and IT risk management
• 7+ years of experience in a technical infrastructure or systems role prior to security experience within the data, networking and/or system administration discipline
• 8+ years of experience working knowledge of information security controls, guidelines, and standards (e.g., ISO27000 series, OWASP, CSA CCM, CIS 20 Critical Security Controls, SOX, and NIST).

• Solid understanding of malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.
