Location/Division Specific Information Our global Clinical Operations colleagues within our PPD® clinical research services provide end-to-end support for clinical trials from study start up to monitoring through to study close out, across commercial and government contracts. Together, we help clients define and develop clinical programs, minimize delays, and execute high-quality, cost-efficient clinical studies. Discover Impactful Work: Supervises the technical staff and the technical operations of the department to ensure proper staff accountability, operational consistency, and proper execution of a study's technical procedures. A day in the Life: Serves as a technical consultant in the planning and execution of study conduction workflows and setup. Oversees the technical aspects and operation of study conduction in the clinic and makes any necessary technical adjustments to ensure staff efficiency while simultaneously protecting data integrity and quality. Prepares the weekly scheduling and study conduction assignments of staff to meet the operational needs of the clinic. Ensures staff accountability and consistency in the execution of their respective duties and management of their working hours within TimeSite. Leads and directs quarterly departmental staff meetings. Develops the operational and training agendas for monthly mentor meetings. Performs other duties as assigned Keys to Success: Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years). 1+ year of leadership responsibility In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Personal protective equipment may be required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions. Frequently works at a fast pace under varying time constraints Frequently requires working on multiple priorities simultaneously Physical Requirements: Frequently vertical and /or stationary for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequent mobility required. Frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs. Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. Ability to communicate moderately complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply basic principles to solve conceptual issues. Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress.
