To support our mission, we are seeking to fill an Administrative Assistant III position in the Counseling Department at the Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center. This position is located at Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center, 4800 North Lamar, Austin, Texas.

You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.

The Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center (CCRC) Administrative Assistant III performs complex (journey-level) administrative support work. Work involves disseminating information, maintaining filing systems and performing internal administrative support work. May provide guidance to others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. If selected for this position, you must be willing and able to participate in a blindfold-immersion training program and must be able to work 8AM-5PM Monday - Friday.

GENERAL DUTIES: - Prepares and disseminates information concerning agency programs and services. - Prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents. - Ensures accessibility training is current and all materials are accessible and implements universal design. - Performs general office duties such as filing, answering and routing ph ne calls, routing mail, and ordering and maintaining office supplies. - Responds to inquiries and interprets rules, regulations, policies and procedures. - Coordinates meetings, conferences, and seminars. - Participates in the planning and execution of an agency program. - Compiles and enters data for charts, graphs, databases, summaries or reports. - Assists in the development of administrative or technical assistance policies and procedures. - Provide assistance answering and routing phone calls, taking messages, and greeting and directing visitors to the appropriate staff as needed. - Manage and maintain schedules and travel arrangements for managers and directors. - Prepare and compile presentation and training materials. - Organize and maintain schedules and travel arrangements for managers and directors. - May provide guidance to others. - Performs related work as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures. - Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software. - Ability to implement administrative procedures. - Ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies and procedures. - Communicate effectively. - Provide guidance to others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completionof GED certification, plus two years of full-time experience thatprovided knowledge of administrative support functions and officepractices and procedures, or clerical administration and businessmanagement practices, such as preparation, maintenance, andcontrol of forms, records and reports. -Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work may besubstituted for six months of experience.

Position may travel up to 10% of the time. Position may also require the ability to lift/carry 10 pounds.
