RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will serve as a subject matter expert for Enterprise Server Virtualization. This position requires experience in system administration while offering the opportunity to expand in the role for a motivated individual.

  • Design, architect, implement, configure, and monitor Enterprise server virtualization to meet business needs, including VMware Hypervisor platform.

  • Manage physical hardware in the corporate data centers and remote facilities.

  • Ensure compliance with vendor best practices, security policies and disaster recovery requirements.

  • Collaborate with platform teams on lifecycle management.

  • Maintain, monitor, and test solutions for business continuity.

  • Forecast and plan for yearly expense and capital budgets.

  • Is responsible for researching, implementing, and maintaining system and platform security to help ensure environment stability, solving complex computer performance and technical problems, as well as developing and following well documented change control procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Level of position offered (Systems Engineer or Senior Systems Engineer) will be determined based on experience and skill set.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a related field or 7 - 12 years’ experience engineering, deploying, and supporting enterprise infrastructure.

  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundations, NSX, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), vSphere Replication, Virtual Center, Aria Operations Manager, Aria Network Operations Manager, Aria Operations for Logs.

  • Proficiency in administration of enterprise physical and virtual server environments.

  • Desire to learn new technologies and manage vendor relationships.

  • Pattern of initiative and technical innovation, proven problem solving, decision making and project management skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work on nights, weekends, holidays for 3rd level support and/or system upgrades in support of Plant downtime availability.

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • Experience in administration of additional enterprise level hypervisors.

  • Experience in Windows Server and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.

  • Experience in administration of storage arrays or data protection, such as Netapp, Dell storage, IBM storage, Cisco MDS, Rubrik or IBM Storage Protect.

  • Strong knowledge of ITS infrastructure and strong troubleshooting experience, including networking and TCP/IP Concepts.

LOCATION: Austin, MN

A comprehensive relocation package to the Austin, MN area will be offered, if required.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $91,700-$156,000 per year , and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
