Job Description
As an HVAC Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units and systems. This role includes inspecting systems, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting other trade personnel with maintenance tasks. You will also attend required meetings and training sessions, and maintain chemical levels and control systems for chilled and condenser water treatment systems.
Responsibilities
Repair air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units and systems, including refrigeration systems, pneumatic controls, steam traps, pressure regulators, steam separators, pumps, fans, and motors.
Periodically overhaul air conditioning and heating systems.
Inspect air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems and perform preventive maintenance.
Install air conditioning (both window and central systems) and heating units, along with piping, pumps, motors, and refrigeration systems.
Handle and dispose of refrigerants appropriately.
Assist trade personnel (e.g., plumbers, electricians) and contractors in maintenance repairs and perform building maintenance and trade tasks.
Troubleshoot and maintain all HVAC-related equipment.
Attend required meetings and training sessions.
Maintain chemical levels and control systems for chilled and condenser water treatment systems.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in analyzing and repairing HVAC equipment, including chillers, cooling towers, and condensers.
EPA Certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in HVAC troubleshooting, repair, installation, and service.
Skills in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and sheet metal work.

Work Environment
This is a first shift position working Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with some flexibility. You will report to the facilities management building each morning. Our client operates on a 1,157-acre campus in Kent, Ohio, with extensive tree coverage and foliage. Responsibilities will cover various parts of the campus, and you will work alongside the custodial, grounds, movers/laborers, fleet service, maintenance, and trades teams.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
