Supports day-to-day improvements in these areas & Suppliers (local & overseas). Helps through the means of improvement activities on efficiencies, automation & bottom line Cost Savings assuring sound quality control principles are created & put in place. Deeply involved with new product designs & product launches assuring manufacturing capabilities are sufficient & able to produce highly efficient results consistently. Interfaces with all engineering functions within an organization, Customers & Suppliers on quality related issues.Works extensively in a team environment on producing Control Plans for key products & components for products made in house or sourced through suppliers. Works on fixtures, tools and/or dies to improve their consistency or to also control or measure their performance.QualificationsEducation: Associates Degree or higher degree a plus ASQ Certified Engineer (CQE) or Technician a plus Tool & Die, Engineering certificates & training a plus Experience: 5+ year of hands on Quality, MFG & Engineering experience within the metal fabrication industry. Supervision, leadership & team participation experience in formal Root Cause analysis & Corrective Action improvements in MFG environments, engineering disciplines internally & external Suppliers. Asian manufacturing experience a strong plus.Skills/Abilities: Effective writing & communication skills Good computer skills (MSOffice) Good understanding & use of fundamental formal QA principles Detailed oriented, strong organizational & project MGT skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities Formal use of Root Cause Analysis & its application, analytical, problem solving & interpersonal skills to assure effective interaction within Engineering, MFG & QA groups. Strong Leadership abilities Self-starter & highly motivated Team Player ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES: Participates & supports maintenance of ISO 9001 & 14001 & non-ISO Quality & Environmental MGT System and its processes. Support Sr. QE in developing needed standards & guidelines to assure best practices. Formulates & maintains process documents/work instructions & checklists to support work duties & make recommendations on needed changes or need for creation of new QMS-EMS processes. Evaluates, suggests & implements adjustments to engineering design specifications, MFG & Quality plans. Attends product development meetings throughout product validation. Review & verify key stage deliverables & documented info are completed & addressed when found incomplete. Collaborates with Engineering, MFG & Quality MGT to establish design & MFG methods, policies & processes. Evaluates & ID waste in MFG operation & processes, and once approved by QA MGT, champions initiatives that lead to efficiency gains. Leads Root Cause analysis & Corrective Action process on the shop floor & suppliers. ID improvement opportunities throughout the organization & with key suppliers. Troubleshoots Customer field complaints & work with the development & other functions involved on immediate short-term & long-term preventive systematic solutions to assure root cause(s) are effectively addressed & don't recur. Creates & implements inspection criteria & processes. ID inspection activity for product & process throughout production cycle including acceptance sampling & material controls. Creates & maintains internal & Vendor Control Plans for products & processes. Works with vendors to insure quality of all purchased parts for company use. Conducts internal & Supplier Audits. Supports workers engaged in inspection & testing a ctivities to ensure proper use of sound inspection, blueprint practices. Leads Material Review (MRB) process to assure progress & timely material disposition. Timely communicate, report & escalate to QA MGT when items not completed. Collaborates with Engineering, MFG & Quality MGT to evaluate & assess personnel needs & requirements, assists in recruiting & training of technical personnel. Reviews & ID fixtures, tools & gauges to help in the control of products & processes within our MFG operation and at our Suppliers Use SPC for internal application and also with external suppliers and interpret the results and give directions based on those results Perform gauge R & R studies when necessary in accessing measurement methods and application. Participate in Failure Mode Analysis (FMEA) when necessary and support efforts with those results. Participates in formal PPAP program on supplier parts up to & including validation when required. Creates, ID & maintains key needed Metrics for internal & external (suppliers) areas to assure continual improvement & customer satisfaction Other duties as assigned
