We are seeking highly motivated individuals with strong computational skills, evidence of a productive academic record (e.g., published manuscripts, conference abstracts), and good interpersonal skills.
This is a 1-to-3-year postdoctoral fellowship position in the Kheyfets Cardiopulmonary Simulation Laboratory within the Cardiovascular Pulmonary Research Lab (CVP). The applicant will be responsible for coordinating a collaborative research project between the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Stanford University. This includes data collection and management and serving as a point of contact between collaborators. Furthermore, the applicant will be asked to train and supervise graduate students and technical staff in the laboratory.
The technical responsibilities of the position include: (1) developing a post-processing pipeline for cardiac MR images to measure contractile mechanics and structure; (2) developing finite element models of the heart/lungs; and (3) preparing manuscripts and conference abstracts that outline the study findings.

Supervision Provided:
The chosen candidate will supervise and mentor graduate students and technical staff working under the principal investigators supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Serve as point of contact between two collaborating laboratories
Develop software (in Matlab and/or Python) for image post-processing, and perform strain analysis on all study subjects.
Develop and execute the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model of the cardiopulmonary system (using ADINA).
Mentoring and supervising graduate students and technical staff.
Salary Range:
The salary range (or hiring range) has been established at $53,760 to $65,292.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
Experience in software development (Matlab or Python)

MD or PhD in Bioengineering, mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, or related discipline.
